Assay.Works specializes in high-throughput compound screening and high-content microscopy which we offer as a service to pharmaceutical/biotech companies and academic organizations.

To support our scientific team and laboratory operations in Regensburg, Germany, we are seeking a dynamic and versatile professional who will be responsible for administering and optimizing our Research IT and Informatics systems.

Full-time position, part-time is an option; initially limited to 24 months.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide IT support for computerized laboratory equipment, e.g. plate reader devices, liquid handling, and robotic components to ensure robust operations and efficient data flow.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Information Systems, tools, and data repositories that support the specific needs of the scientific team and other business functions.
  • Implement governance, tools, and procedures to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
  • Act as a liaison between the scientific team, management, external partners, and hard- and software vendors to ensure the research informatics and business IT needs are effectively met.
Your profile
The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise in laboratory IT and Research Informatics, strong analytical skills, and the ability to bridge the gap between laboratory research and information technology.
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related discipline).
  • Proven experience in laboratory IT administration, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry (at least 3 years).
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows Client/Server ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with deploying and maintaining computer hard- and software.
  • A deep understanding of both, the details and big picture of modern IT systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis with a strong understanding of research methodologies and principles.
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell, SQL) for automating and scheduling tasks are also an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in German and English.
